I've been working as a corporate photographer for about two decades, offering my services to clients from Raleigh to Washington D.C. In my line of work, I strongly believe that you are only as good as your last shoot. This mindset drives me to work hard for my clients, and I think it's the reason they keep coming back. It's a straightforward equation – do a good job, get called back; mess up, and you won't.
Each shoot involves a ton of creative decisions. Missing out on some of these choices can result in dull and uninspiring images. However, approaching each shoot with creativity regarding lighting, the subject, and time constraints turns the job into a fun and exciting challenge. Something I love about corporate photography is that when working with communication departments, I often find that the client and I speak the same visual language and I find that collaboration always helps to get them what they need from my photography. It's the mix of dedication, creative thinking, connection with your subject, and attention to detail that makes this job so enjoyable for me.
I graduated from Fordham University in NYC. I’m a sailor, having taught it in my teens at Annapolis Sailing School, I’ve sailed across the Atlantic on a small boat. I spend a lot of time in the darkroom and I shoot a lot of alternative process photography with older-fashioned cameras.
